Mission Cincinnati 2015

Mission trips are always my favorite part of summer.  There are a lot of crazy things we do with our youth but this is one of the most memorable and life changing things we do.  It is so important for everyone to learn to serve because Jesus was the ultimate servant.

Also, I love the unity that comes from serving together.  Even if it isn’t something fun, it’s always an opportunity to learn about each other.

This year was no exception.  We had a great time in Cincinnati working with a new church plant.  The best part was Sunday morning, helping them set up in an elementary school.  It showed us how much we take for granted just walking in our church building every week.  We also did a VBS, painted some chain link fence… yeah… and passing out flyers about the church.

It was the hardest trip to date for me because I literally missed Mollie so much that my heart was aching.  (It was probably because there were a couple 2.5 year old little girls at the VBS every day.)It is always so hard to leave her.  I choose to put God first and leaving her is an act of worship and trust for me.

On the way there we went through Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and finally Ohio.  We made a lot of stops, one time seeing the world’s largest rocking chair.  Nate did a great job driving the people mover everywhere.
