Disney on Ice 2018

This is one of our favorite things to do!  We look forward to it all year long.  This year was a little different because Reed wasn’t a baby in my lap.  One of his favorite things to do is watch movies…. especially Moana.  So, we thought he would love all the music and lights…. no big deal… he will do great.  Turns out, not really his thing.  So…. Nate took care of him through the first half and then during the last half he watched my phone in my lap.

This year it was Moana, Belle, Frozen, Nemo and all the Disney Crew.  Mollie loved it as usual. Nate and I are always impressed too.  This year, she picked out a cute little Belle necklace…. and the normal snocone.

Our yearly tradition was almost canceled this year, but we squeezed it in.  We all almost fell asleep, but it was fun none-the-less.Our original ticket date was the same day as Papaw’s funeral… and we ended up going straight after church on the Sunday of our youth’s Crash Weekend. 

Mollie was really excited to see all the princesses.  And she picked out a fancy horse as her souvenir.  This was Reed’s first Disney on Ice…. He watched for a few minutes before he fell asleep.

I just love this new tradition.  This was our second year to take our girl and even more fun than the last!  It is something I will look forward to every year.

This year it was a medley of shows… Frozen, Cars, Toy Story and The Little Mermaid.  Plus all the Disney character we know and love made an appearance too.  We were armed and ready with the light up thing we had bought the year before and plenty of glow sticks.

All three of us really enjoyed it!

Man, do I love a good tradition.  My mom always took me to Disney on Ice, and I still look back on those memories with such joy.  There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that I wanted to take Mollie.  So… this year we started new tradition and went to see Disney on Ice:Frozen at the Great State Fair of Oklahoma.

It was a great show and Mollie had a great time.  She sat there, wide-eyed, the entire time.  Our little outing was made complete with: popcorn, Olaf snowcone, $35 snowflake wand (What?!?!), and two little rides.

It was also Nate’s first time to go to the fair.  He had a good time with both his girls and we are already looking forward to next year.
