Disney on Ice 2018

This is one of our favorite things to do!  We look forward to it all year long.  This year was a little different because Reed wasn’t a baby in my lap.  One of his favorite things to do is watch movies…. especially Moana.  So, we thought he would love all the music and lights…. no big deal… he will do great.  Turns out, not really his thing.  So…. Nate took care of him through the first half and then during the last half he watched my phone in my lap.

This year it was Moana, Belle, Frozen, Nemo and all the Disney Crew.  Mollie loved it as usual. Nate and I are always impressed too.  This year, she picked out a cute little Belle necklace…. and the normal snocone.

Reed’s 1st Haircut

April 13, 2018   .   10 1/2 Months Old

Cutest thing ever.  He just sat in the chair so still and patient.  We were all very impressed.  The previous two times I cut it at home he did not stop moving.

Mollie’s First Day of Pre-K

August 17, 2017

Skyview Elementary, Yukon

Oh my gravy…. how did this day come soooo fast!  We can’t believe that Mollie is in school all day, every day.  I have been dreading this, praying and gearing myself up all summer.  What was I going to do without my girl?  She was also such a great helper with Reed being so little.  We knew that she was ready… and that was affirmed even more when she marched right into her class and settled in without shedding a tear.

The night before, her teachers had given us some fun “Ready Confetti” to sprinkle under her pillow.  Through tears, I read her the cute little poem and off to bed she went.  Nate made such fun of me but his time was coming…

I made sure to get everyone up extra early for mandatory first day pictures.

My heart was bursting and I had a lump in my throat the whole time.  Everyone says that time goes even faster when they start school, and now I know they are right.  Nate and I are so very proud of our big girl and love her soooo much.

Like I said before, Mollie was fine at drop off.  I had a few tears… but Daddy couldn’t stop crying.  He had not prepared like I had, and now we had just left our baby with strangers, in a new place and it was weird.  There was no way we were making it to the tour after drop off…. we basically ran out of there, wiping our eyes all the way to the car.

The next day went a little better:

Your dad and I are your biggest fans!  Go change the world, baby girl.  This is our prayer for you this school year:

“Keep your eyes open, Hold tight to your convictions, Give it all you’ve got, Be resolute, and Love without stopping” 1 Cor. 16:13-14

Keep your eyes open…. make sure you are seeing the people around you.  Obey and respect your teachers, and look for opportunities to befriend your classmates.

Hold tight to your convictions…. you know what’s right and what’s wrong.  You know when others are hurt or confused.  Don’t ever make someone feel bad.  Remember what we’ve taught you and remember what God has already put in your sweet little tender heart.

Give it all you’ve got…. At whatever you’re doing in class, do it right.  And, do it to the best of your ability.  We know you can do it all!

Be resolute…. Lead.  Don’t be a follower and do things just because others are.

Love without stopping… We see your kind heart.  Show your class.

Mollie’s Last Day of Mother’s Day Out

IMG_6831

This year of Mother’s Day Out has been the absolute best!  Mollie has loved every single day.  She asked us every night… “How many more sleeps til school?”

Her teachers were just precious and we are so grateful for all the hard work they put into her class and giving her the individual attention she needs.  It was so sad to see it end… but we know that she will love Pre-K!

She grew so much!  From 39.5 lbs to 43.6 lbs. and from 41” to 43.5”

She learned to write and color so well.  She learned how to make good friends and emerged as a leader… even though she was the youngest in her class.  She got to play on a firetruck, meet lots of new animals, learn songs and life lessons.  Her teachers said she was always comforting anyone that was upset…. and telling stories about her “older sister”???  She really loved Donuts with Dad and Muffins with Mom, and we loved it too!

Her teachers, Mrs. Teresa and Mrs. Lisa had this to say about our sweet Mollie Girl: “Mollie has such a great sense of who she is and how to speak her mind in a kind way.  She has a skill in verbally summing up a situation that is both precious and valuable.  We are so thankful she got to be in our class!  The kids all gravitate to her and if she was gone they truly missed her.  She is definitely a leader and an absolute joy to know.”

We are already so proud of you, Mollie Grace!  Even though we are super sad to see you grow up so fast, we look forward to each new chapter.  We know that you will love your new school and excel there as well.  We are so grateful for your sweet spirit and kind heart for others.  We pray you always keep that up.

Love,

Mommy & Daddy

Family “BabyMoon”

April 1-4, 2017

We wanted to take a little weekend to get away and do something fun with Mollie before Reed arrives…. So, we took the only free weekend we could find.  And it was great!  Having a little break away from church was awesome, even though we just went to Tulsa.

Mollie had the best time ever.  She was so excited to stay in a hotel.  She packed her own suitcase full of toys and her swimsuit and she was ready to go!

We did a lot of swimming.  I even got in with my shorts and t-shirt once… wasn’t really up for buying a maternity swimsuit for one trip.  That was Mollie’s favorite thing to do and her sweet Daddy was happy to take her every time she asked.

We went to Incredible Pizza… and it was awesome!  We won things out of all the games we played, did some putt putt, mini-bowling, go carts and more.

We also went to the mall one day…. had to stop by Build-a-Bear.  Our purchases included: lunch at Chick-fil-a, a new bear at Build-a-Bear, clip on earrings, one carousal ride and an Arial barbie.

It was just a great time.  Mollie now plays with her dolls like they are”going to Tulsa” so I think it’s safe to say she loved it!  And Nate and I really did too.  Love little get-aways with my little fam.  It is exciting to think about having a little boy with us next time!
