Size: Baby Girl is the size of a pumpkin: 6.2 – 9 lbs and 19ish in. long.

New Baby Developments: She may have about an inch of hair already, and she’s slowly shedding that white goo on her skin.

37 Weeks 

How Far Along: 37 weeks

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a Winter Melon: 6.2 – 9 lbs and 19ish in. long.

New Baby Developments: She’s practicing some skills: inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping and blinking.  She is also getting her first sticky poo ready for her first diaper.

33 Weeks

How Far Along: 33 weeks

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a Durian:  5ish lbs and 18ish in. long.

New Baby Developments: She’s keeping her eyes open while awake and coordinating breathing, swallowing, and sucking.  Her bones are hardening and she is going through more major brain development.

Cravings: Little chocolate cupcakes

Aversions: Licking envelopes.

Movement: Becoming more painful by the day. But I love it and want her to keep moving!

Looking Forward To: These next few weeks going fast.

Best Moment of the Week: Getting her closet all organized and ready!

32 Weeks – 8 Months!

October 10, 2012

32 Weeks

3-4-5-6-7-8 Months

How Far Along: 32 weeks

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a squash: 17 in. long and around 4 lbs.

New Baby Developments: She’s getting ready for her descent – likely in the head down position now.  And, she’s feeling even more cramped.

Cravings: Ice Cream and whatever else I can find!

Aversions: Fall smelling candles.

Movement: Becoming more painful by the day.  But I love it and want her to keep moving!

Looking Forward To: Seeing her sweet face!

Best Moment of the Week: Having our first baby shower at church!

31 Weeks 

How Far Along: 31 week

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a pineapple: 16 in. long and around 4 lbs.

New Baby Developments: She is going through major brain and nerve development.  Her eyes now react to light and all five senses are in working order!

Cravings: I’ll eat anything these days.

Aversions: Fall smelling candles.  Yuck!

Movement: Lots of BIG movement…. that hurts.

Looking Forward To: Delivering!

Best Moment of the Week: Making it through a busy week.  We worked at the Czech Fest and that took it out of me, but we made it through!

30 Weeks

How Far Along: 30 weeks

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a cucumber: 16 in. long and around 3.5 lbs.

New Baby Developments: Her skin is getting smoother, but her brain is getting wrinklier – to make room for all that essential brain tissue.  And, all five of her senses are fully developed!

Cravings: Cheese

Aversions: Anything gooey.

Movement: Lots of BIG movement…. that hurts.

Looking Forward To: Delivering!

Best Moment of the Week: Finishing childbirth class!  It was a long 6 weeks with 8 classes, but we learned a ton and feel confident and ready!

29 Weeks 

How Far Along: 29 weeks

Size: Baby Girl is the size of an eggplant: 15.5 in. long and around 2.5 – 3.5 lbs.

New Baby Developments: She is getting cramped in there because she is growing so fast. 

Cravings: Chocolate!

Aversions: Anything gooey.

Movement: Lots of BIG movement.

Looking Forward To: Finishing childbirth class!

Best Moment of the Week: Getting a 3D Ultrasound and getting to see her precious little face.  Her hands were in front on her face most of the time, but it was still priceless.  She yawned several times and they confirmed she is still a girl!

How Far Along: 28 weeks

Size: Baby Girl is the size of an eggplant: 14 in. long and around 2 – 2.5 lbs.

New Baby Developments: She is developing more fat, so her wrinkly skin is getting smoother.  Her lungs are mature enough that she’d survive if she was born now.

Cravings: Ice Cream, Mac-n-Cheese

Aversions: Anything gooey.

Movement: Lots of BIG movement.

Looking Forward To: 4D Ultrasound next week!

Best Moment of the Week: Cutting out her name for her room.  One of the finishing touches!

How Far Along: 27 weeks
Size: Baby Girl is the size of a rutabaga: 14.5 in. long and around 2 lbs.
New Baby Developments: She is practicing inhaling and exhaling with her rapidly developing lungs. And, she is showing brain activity!  If she were born today she would have a 99% chance to survive.
Cravings: Anything really.  I am hungry all the time now!
Aversions: Anything gooey.
Movement: Lots!
Looking Forward To: Finishing up her room!
Best Moment of the Week: Not having to work!  And, getting a haircut.  5 inches gone makes a big difference!
 
 

26 Weeks

How Far Along: 26 weeks
Size: Baby Girl is the size of a head of lettace: 14 in. long and around 2 lbs.
New Baby Developments: Her eyes are forming and will soon open, and her eyelashes are now grown.  She is getting her immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up my antibodies and breathing amniotic fluid.
Cravings: Little powdered doughnuts.
Aversions: Anything gooey and the smell of smoke or gasoline.
Movement: Somedays she moves all day long and others just every now and then. But, if I lay down flat on my back… she will move every time.
Looking Forward To: Getting the gestational diabetes test over with.
Best Moment of the Week: Getting out of town and seeing Nate's Mamaw and Papaw.

How Far Along: 25 weeks

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a head of cauliflower: 13.6 in. long and around 2 lbs.

New Baby Developments: She is enjoying her new sense of equilibrium (knowing which way is up and which is down) and she is growing more fat!

Cravings: Ice Cream, Mac-n-Cheese

Aversions: Anything gooey.

Movement: Somedays she moves all day long and others just every now and then.  But, if I lay down flat on my back… she will move every time.

Looking Forward To: Scheduling a 3D ultrasound and some showers.

Best Moment of the Week: Starting childbirth classes so we can be prepared and confidant!

24 Weeks

How Far Along: 24 weeks… That’s 6 MONTHS PEOPLE!

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a cantaloupe: 11.8 in. long and around 20.8 oz.

New Baby Developments: Her skin is gradually becoming more opaque, and it’s got a new pink glow (thanks to the small capillaries that have recently formed).

Cravings: Ice Cream and peanuts… together… covered in chocolate :)

Aversions: Anything gooey.

Movement: A lot!  My new favorite thing to do is watch my stomach move.  It’s creepy in an amazing miracle kind of way.

Looking Forward To: Scheduling a 3D ultrasound and some showers.

Best Moment of the Week: Getting to see her for a few seconds at our doctors appointment.

How Far Along: 23 weeks

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a grapefruit: 11.8 in. long and around 20.8 oz.

New Baby Developments: Her face is fully formed now!  And, she is listening intently to different voices and sounds.

Cravings: Little powdered doughnuts and Ice Cream

Aversions: Anything gooey.

Movement: She moves all the time!  Keeps me up at night sometimes.

Looking Forward To: Working on her nursery this weekend.

Best Moment of the Week: Getting a pedicure with Melissa thinking about what our toes will look like when we give birth. haha

How Far Along: 22 weeks

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a papaya: 11.8 in. long and around 20 oz.

New Baby Developments: She is now sleeping in cycles… about 12 to 14 hours per day.

Cravings: Mac-n-cheese and little powdered doughnuts

Aversions: Chicken, Cereal, and anything gooey.

Movement: She moves all the time! Mostly at night now.

Looking Forward To: Sewing some curtains with mom.

Best Moment of the Week: Deciding her name!

How Far Along: 21 weeks

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a pomegranate: 10.5 in. long and around 12.7 oz.

New Baby Developments: Her digestive system is prepping for the outside world and she already has a lifetime’s supply of eggs in her womb – about 6 million of them.

Cravings: Mac-n-cheese and Ice Cream

Aversions: Lots of stuff….

Movement: She moves all the time! I can feel her all the time!

Looking Forward To: Starting the nursery and deciding her name!

Best Moment of the Week: Getting over some weird two day sickness and making it through VBS at church.

20 Weeks 

How Far Along: 20 weeks

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a banana: 6.5 in. long and around 10.6 oz.

New Baby Developments: She has working taste buds!

Cravings: Bacon and Mac-n-cheese

Aversions: I may be slowly getting over my chicken thing.

Movement: She moves all the time!  I can feel her all the time!

Looking Forward To: Starting the nursery!

Best Moment of the Week: On July 20, Nate could feel her kick for the first time!  It was a little flutter for him and a giant kick for me, but he felt her!

19 Weeks

How Far Along: 19 weeks  - This week we were in Minneapolis, Minnesota for a mission trip.  I made it great… just got really swollen.

Size: Baby Girl is the size of a mango: 6 in. long and around 8.5 oz.

New Baby Developments: Baby Girl is working on her five senses.  Nerve cells for her sense of taste, hearing, sight, and smell are developing in her brain.

Cravings: Ice Cream!

Aversions: Still Chicken.

Movement: Feeling big kicks now.  There is no confusion…. there’s a baby in there.

Looking Forward To: Nate being able to feel his baby girl!

Best Moment of the Week: Making it through another week with the youth.  I was super tired but enjoyed every minute.  And, Baby Girl got to go to a Minnesota Twins game!

18 Weeks

How Far Along: 18 weeks

Size: Baby is the size of a sweet potato… 5.6 in. and 6.7 oz.  (But actually we found out SHE already weighs around 8 oz!)

New Baby Developments: SHE is yawning, hiccupping, sucking, and swallowing.  SHE is also rolling, punching and kicking!

Cravings: Ice Cream!

Aversions: Still Chicken.

Movement: Definitely some flutters!  Sometimes really big ones!

Looking Forward To: Nate being able to feel his baby girl!

Best Moment of the Week: Finding out that we are going to have a precious baby girl!  Can’t wait!

17 Weeks

I forgot to take a bump picture because we were at Falls Creek (Youth Camp), but here we are that week.  It was great!

How Far Along: 17 weeks

Size: Baby is the size of an onion… 5.1 in. and 5.9 oz.

New Baby Developments: Baby is growing some meat on those bones – putting on some fat!

Cravings: Cheese

Aversions: Stuff that is too sweet.  Eggs.

Movement: Definitely some flutters!

Looking Forward To: Going to the doctor next week and finding out boy or girl!  (Nate is sure it’s a girl.)

Best Moment of the Week: Making it through camp and not forgetting to take my vitamins!
