Christmas 2014

Little Miss had two Christmas dresses this year.  So stinkin’ cute!

First we had a family Christmas with Nate’s side.  Mollie had a great time playing on the jungle gym outside, even though it was a little too cold for that.  She loves to see her cousins Aubrey and Avery.

Next, Nate had a Sunday off so we went to church at Union Hill (where we saw Aubrey and Avery again) and then went over to my side.  Mollie had a great time opening presents this year and was pretty excited about her tent and Buzz Lightyear.

On Christmas Eve, Mom and Dad came over and I made dinner.  We had only had snack foods so I decided we needed a good meal for Christmas.  It was complete with Nate’s favorite mac-n-cheese.  We drove through the Christmas lights and then Mollie got to open her Christmas Eve present… popcorn, movie, and pj’s.

Christmas morning, we were home with just our little family and it was great!  Mollie got to open her stocking and some more presents.  We played with all her new stuff all day… including some painting.

Lastly, we went down to Mamaw and Papaw’s.  We only stayed one night and that helped all three of us not to be so sleepy, so it was a more enjoyable trip.  Mollie preferred to stay in the house most of the time…. away from the cows… so we got some good time with Papaw by ourselves.  She also got to open even more presents (got another tent) and play with all her cousins.  Nate and I also had to have some kolaches.

Pic With Santa 2014

This was an experience.  The last two years we have just thrown her on his lap.  This year she went ballistic…. Screaming, crying, scared to death.  Looking back I wish I had just told Santa to hold her so we would have had the classic “screaming in Santa’s lap” pic, but in the moment it didn’t occur to me.  I just felt so bad for the nice Ol Saint Nick and the lady and Santa just kind of told us to get in the picture with her.  At first I didn’t think Santa was even going to be in the picture but then he knelt down by my knee.  So, it turned out as a family pic because Mollie “no like Santa Claus.”  And for the rest of the day she was “scared Santa Claus.”

It’s fun to compare with the last couple years too.  Same sweet girl, same sweet Santa…

Thanksgiving 2014

This Thanksgiving was somewhat unusual.  We went down to Mamaw and Papaw’s for two nights.  All the other kids were sick, so it was just Mollie.  Then we came back to Aunt Jana’s to celebrate with Nana and Papa… where I neglected to take any pictures :(

Then we stayed the night with Mom and Dad and played with Easter eggs.

I am continually amazed at how blessed we are and am so very thankful to be a parent and have Mollie with us on family gatherings.  She is such a joy for us and I couldn’t imagine life without her.  Nate and I are also soaking up every opportunity we have to be with our grandparents… It bites getting older, and that just means our grandparents are getting older too.

Mollie’s 2nd Birthday!

I said I wasn’t going to do a birthday party every year, but kinda changed my mind.  I wanted to do something small for my girl… It ended up being almost as big as the first one, but that was because I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.  I learned my lesson and will keep it small for the next one.  I bought way to many cupcakes and cookies… but just the people I really wanted came, so it was perfect.

We went with a Doc McStuffins theme.  Mollie loves that show and carries her Lambie with her everywhere.  We took the above pictures for her invites.

She had a great time eating and coloring with her little friends on the little table we borrowed from church.  Then she got to open some presents and she really got into that.  It was a lot of fun!

She didn’t like the candles too much.  But we had friends there to help her blow them out.  She did, however, like eating the cake.

After everyone left and things settled down, she got to open her presents from us.  What girl doesn’t need a doll and stroller for her 2nd birthday?
